Man Medflighted after Stabbing in Fitchburg

A person was transported by ambulance to Leominster Hospital late this morning after a stabbing in the 100 block of Mechanic Street in Fitchburg. EMS reported a 38 year old male with at least five stab wounds in his back. Boston Medflight flew the victim to UMass Hospital in Worcester.

Teenager Lifeflighted After Being Hit By Car in Fitchburg

UMass LifeFlight was called today when a 14 year old girl was struck by a car in the 200 block of Westminster St and suffered a serious head injury just before 5 PM. The helicopter landed at Morin field, and the teen was flown to the UMass pediatrics department.

6 Alarm Fire in Fitchburg

In progress now: 3rd alarm transmitted on arrival for heavy fire in a commercial building at 520 Main St. OIC requesting an additional ladder & tower ladder above the 3rd alarm. Heavy fire in the cockloft. Listen to the fire live here.

21:45 4th alarm transmitted. Fire is in a 5 story brick structure, floor 1 is commercial, with apartments above.

21:53 All firefighters ordered out of the building, evac tones sounded. FD employing master streams.

22:02 Off duty firefighters being recalled. Additional Tower Ladder being requested from Gardner FD.

22:04 Per MEMA State Control, fire is now at a 6th alarm.

As of midnight, firefighters still had fire in the building. Defensive operations were being conducted, with as many as 6 master streams in use. Operations will likely continue throughout the night.

April 8th Incidents

01:10 Boston, MA: BFD Engine 5 on scene on I-90 Westbound in the Ted Williams Tunnel requesting a technical rescue response for a MassDOT employee trapped 15-20 feet down in a two foot wide hole. Victim is believed to have a broken leg and is in about three feet of water. Worker was successfully extricated and transported to MGH.

02:19 Boston, MA: Person robbed at gunpoint on Washington St at Woodley Ave. Suspect described as an Hispanic male in his 20’s, 5’5″, stocky, wearing blue jeans and a ball cap.

13:29 Boston, MA: Police responded to a “shots fired” call on Heath St. Two suspects fled from the scene toward the Jackson Square MBTA station. The suspects then ran along the MBTA tracks towards Ruggles, causing MBTA Orange Line service to be shut down.

16:21 Springfield, MA: Small fire in the attic at 27 Armory St.

16:52 Boston, MA: Fire on the 3rd floor deck at 33 Egremont Rd.

16:55 Fitchburg, MA: 2 alarm fire in a 2.5 story house at 75 Falulah St. Fire spread to the adjacent house. Original fire building suffered a partial roof collapse.

18:03 Brookline, MA: A masked tall white male brandished a large hunting knife and robbed the J.E. Pierce Apothecary. Suspect fled in a 2010 black Ford Focus with MA plate 84P160.

21:20 Providence, RI: Working fire in an unoccupied 1.5 story structure at 9 School St.
