Body pulled from water in Lowell

A non-emergency technical rescue response was requested in Lowell this morning for the area of 145 Pawtucket St, where a body was observed in the waters of the Merrimack River. After approximately an hour, rescuers were able to remove the body of a male from the water. Assistance was provided at the scene by the Lowell Fire Department dive team and a Massachusetts State Police helicopter. The man has not been identified yet, and the case has been turned over to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
